Family Night

Hey guys for this weeks blog I am going to be talking about what video I will be showing for family night. I am going to be showing my Puka Dog Video. One of the reasons is because me and Carter spent a lot of time on it. Secondly It had a strong story. Finally, I think that our shots where good in that project.

I spent more time on the Puka Dog video than any other project I have done. I started it in the summer with Carter. The story took us multiple days out of our limited summer camp to find. After the summer we spent the whole first quarter revising it. Somehow we where still right down to the final deadline even after the extra time we where given but I think it turned out pretty well.

Puka Dog is extremely successful. I was glad we found a unique story such as it. They make over 2 million dollars a year, selling hot dogs. They have a unique idea and a cool backstory. The people their where very kind for letting us do the story, and we got free hot dogs whenever we went.

In the summer we had a lot of good shots but we realized we needed more of certain things. It was really nice to have the first quarter to go and reshoot and get new interviews. We got to evaluate what shots we needed in the summer and then go and re-film after. Overall I think it turned out pretty good.

In conclusion the story was fun and centered around a good idea. I can't wait to show everyone the project. Thank you for reading and check in next week for another blog.

STN (Post Trip)

Hey guys for this weeks blog topic I am going to be talking about my top three moments at STN. My first moment was Disneyland, it was so fun. My second favorite moment was how well we did at STN, we did pretty good this year. My third favorite moment was universal.

Disneyland was so much fun. It was good that we spent two days there so we could spend time at both parks. My favorite ride was the California screamer, it was probably the scariest ride in the park. I also really enjoyed space mountain. Disneyland was an amazing experience.

This year we did pretty good at convention, unfortunately we didn't place in crazy 8's.
Other than that we placed in almost every category. I was kinda sad we didn't do better in silent film nevertheless I was glad we got to go up on stage. Carter and Keith did really good, they got first in Nat Package. PSA and Anchoring got second as well.

Universal was surprisingly a lot different than Disney. The tour was a lot better, i'm glad we did the V.I.P. tour because it had a lot of VR rides in the tour. Universal had a lot different feel than normal roller coasters, most of them mixed VR and roller coasters. I really liked the Harry Potter ride because it had a really good mix of VR and real life and the VR felt very real. The Jurassic Park drop was also very fun!

In conclusion this years STN was so much fun. These are just a few of the many amazing moments. It was such a great experience and thank you to Mr. M for planning this whole thing.

Hey guys I'm writing this really late tonight so I'm not going to get too in depth. Starting off today was the closing ceremony. I ended up getting honorable mentions. And we did really well in every other category. After the closing ceremony we went to Disney land. It was lots of fun and I went on a lot of cool rides. Then we got dinner and ice cream. After that we went back to the room.

Hey guys today was my competing day. We woke up early and ate breakfast. Right after we went to get or topic. Our topic was answer the phone. We had a strong story. Unfortunately we had to film in low light and it was really grainy. When we looked back at the footage it wasn't as good as we thought. Luckily when me and Asia edited we made it work. We turned it in then got a celebratory Starbucks. After this we got ready for the baseball game. We got their really early so we kinda walked around the stadium and explored. I got a poke bowl and then went into the stadium to watch the game. To be honest baseball isn't my favorite sport. Never the less I still enjoyed the game. Then we went back and crashed.

Hey guys today was the first day of the smaller group competitions. It was not my groups day so I went to breakout sessions in the beginning. I went to one with les rose about telling your story which was my favorite. After I went to a social media session. Then I got called to help with the music video team which I did. It took a while but we got it finished. After that I ate lunch and went to another breakout session. With someone who works in the industry and worked on a lot of feature films. I learned so much from this experience. Then we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. And to top the night off we went to the film awards.

STN Day Four

Hey guys today was crazy 8s and boy was it crazy. To start off we went to uncle Dons room for breakfast. After that we went down to the Crazy Eights area. Our topic was really hard, it was social justice. We found a lot of good topics but got rejected. Finally we decided to just go out and try to find a story. We must've got rejected around 20 times before getting accepted by O'Neill. I think our story ended up to be pretty good. I ended up being satisfied with our story and we got it done on time. The anchoring team had a lot of redos and nothing seemed to be working out. Me and ty had to end up going to film again in the last 20 minutes to get a final standup. We then edited the stand up in and we were good. We exported it and turned it in. I noticed that the export time was really short. I came to find out later that we only exported one standup that was 2 minutes including all the mistakes. I think we learned from this as much as it tore everyone down. After that we got pizza then went to the opening ceremony.

Hey guys today was our fourth day of STN. It was a lot of fun. To start off the day we went to McDonalds for breakfast. After that we went to the Angles stadium for a tour. It was really cool, we got to see all of the radio and filming things for the TV. I thought that was really interesting. Then we got to go on the field and see a lot of other things as well. After this we went to the Disney animation studio. This was so cool to see. Although it was not interactive like the other tours it had a lot of other cool features. I think it was really cool to see the different jobs people and the studio had. It was also interesting seeing just how many steps are in making an animation. We got to meet the voice of Olaf and the head of animation for Moana. They also gave us a cool bag with a sketchbook. This was an exclusive tour not available to he public. Then we went back to the hotel and met our pen pals, exchanged gifts, and went to dinner. Then we went back to the hotel and went to sleep.

Hey guys today was our 3rd day of STN. Today we started off the day with breakfast at Bobs Big Boy which was a breakfast place, I ordered strawberry waffles. After that we went on a 30 minute bus ride to Hollywood and saw all the starts. After that we went to a mall and we went shopping for a little bit. Then we went on a longer bus ride to our new hotel in Anaheim. We got settled in and then went to downtown Disney, which felt a lot safer than Hollywood. I ate a pizza slice and then went shopping. After that we went to our hotel and crashed.

STN Day Two

Hey guys today was our second day of STN. Today we went to Universal. It was so much fun. The first ride we went on was a Harry Potter roller coaster. It only lasted for like 10 seconds so I did not think it was worth it at all. After that we went to the Simpsons ride. There we were on a stationary cart that would rotate, around us was a massive screen that gave the imitation we were on a scary roller coaster and all of these crazy things happened. After that we went on the VIP tour of their studio. I think the whole VIP experience was awesome we got to see a lot of stuff the normal tours didn't including a bing of simulations that where really cool. After the tour we went to the Jurassic Park ride, the main part of the ride was a big free fall drop into water which was super fun. Then we went to the Transformers ride, we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for an amazing ride, it was mostly simulation with a little bit of roller coaster. Finally at the end of our park journey we went to the best ride yet. It was the other Harry Potter ride and it was a mix between real life and simulation. It was the best roller coaster I have ever been on. Then I went to smash burger for dinner. Thanks for reading, tune in tomorrow for another blog.

STN Day One

Hey guys, today was our first full day of our STN trip. First we went to Warner Bros. Studios which was a blast, I think that was my favorite part of today. We got to see all of the sets where many major movies where filmed. We also got an inside look on just how much of movies is fake. Like how the outside of buildings are just a big building with nothing inside. Then where most of movies and TV shows is inside a sound room, which is a sound proof room that you can make to look how ever you want. We also looked at the Batman vehicles which was probably my favorite part. After that we learned about UCLA's film production class. It was cool seeing their sound rooms and such. Then we went to the Lakers game, I thought that was a really cool game that kept me on the edge of me seat. It was good to see the lakers come out on top. Well that was it for today, tune in tomorrow for another blog. Goodbye:).
