Hey guys! So this past weekend I went to camp. I thought it was cool that after camp they made a video about it. They used very expensive equipment, such as DJI phantom 3. They also had very expensive cameras which was cool. In addition they had photographers documenting the whole thing with pictures. Unfortunately I had to leave early because of STN practice.
Here is a video I made of us at the pier at camp.
Hey guys! For this weeks blog i'm going to be talking about the crazy 8's practice we did on Monday. If you don't know crazy 8's is it is a competition for STN, it is where you have 8 hours to produce a News Story or Short Film. Without further ado I was on the News Story team so lets get started.
First are the cons, there were a few cons most of which were finding our story. We started our story with crazy shirts. They showed the aloha spirit a little bit but it didn't stand out. Then we got a call from Taylor saying she found an amazing man who travels all around the world sharing his knowledge and teaching everyone about the aloha spirit. We also had a problem where are B-roll didn't have audio.
Next is pros, I learned a lot of things from this practice. First of all I feel like I found my real reporter voice. When I was doing voice overs I could sense that It sounded a lot better than before. We also had very solid shots and a great interview. The audio also was set at a certain level so it sounded good.
Now that that is over with i'm going to talk about things I can improve upon. First of all we should try to find a good story earlier that way we have more time to film. We should also monitor our audio. After all that I feel like its better to know when the mistake is happening so you can fix it right then.
In conclusion the STN crazy 8's practice went great. There are still things we can improve upon. Its great to know that we have plenty of practice for STN so we know what its going to be like. Can't wait for STN and I feel like we are going to do a great job. BYE!!!
